Search to Continue Tomorrow For Rietmann

The fifth day of searching for Wilson, Wyoming resident Bernhard Rietmann has concluded.  Eighty-five year old Rietmann was reported missing by his family on Wednesday evening, September 23 when he failed to return home after a day of hunting.
Today’s efforts included revisiting previously searched areas and exploring corridors further along trails than had previously been searched.  Over 100 volunteers supported today’s search on foot, on horseback, and with dog teams.  More than 3,600 volunteer hours have been contributed to the search since Wednesday night.  In addition to many community volunteers, several local and regional agencies have participated in the effort, including Grand Teton National Park, Bridger Teton National Forest, Wyoming Game and Fish, dog teams from Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, and search and rescue teams from Sublette County, Fremont County, Lincoln County, Bonneville County, Idaho and Salt Lake County, Utah. Other efforts included contacting area hospitals who may have admitted someone matching the description of Mr. Rietmann.
Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) encourages anyone who is available to volunteer tomorrow to contact (307) 732-8846 no later than 10pm this evening.  Additionally, Teton County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who was in the Granite Creek area on Wednesday or Thursday, regardless if they think they have pertinent information, to call its Dispatch Office at (307) 733.2331.
Mr. Rietmann was last known to be traveling on the Highline Trail in the Granite Creek area on the morning of Wednesday, September 23rd and reported as wearing a blue jacket, a hunting cap, and boots. He was also carrying a rifle when he left on his hunting trip.
