The Old Faithful highway interchange and overpass in Yellowstone National Park has stood in its place since 1969, but now has begun showing serious wear. Consequently, traffic is being routed around the Old Faithful Overpass Bridge due to safety concerns, with those detours expected to continue until further notice. According to the Park Service, engineers are evaluating the condition of the bridge to determine appropriate action. In the meantime, travelers can still access Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin, lodges, stores, the clinic, and gas station, but those not traveling directly to Old Faithful are advised to consider alternate routes due to delays throughout the area.
